How We Meet You

Support that comes to you, wherever recovery happens

Recovery does not keep office hours, and neither do we. We meet you where life actually happens, at home, at work, on the road, or on a screen, so support fits your real life.

Wherever you are, we are there

In person, in-home, in the community, or virtual, whatever fits your life and comfort.

Discreet and flexible

Support on your schedule and your terms, always private.

Houston, The Heights, and beyond

A trusted local presence, with virtual support reaching wherever you are.

WHERE RECOVERY ACTUALLY HAPPENS

Recovery is not built in a waiting room

It is built in your kitchen at 7am, on the commute you used to dread, at the event you almost skipped, and in the quiet hours when old habits get loud. That is exactly where we show up beside you, in person or on a screen, so the work happens where your life actually is.

Choose Your Format

Choose the support that fits your life

Recovery does not pause for a commute, a work trip, or a hard week at home, so the support around it has to be just as adaptable. We meet you in the format that fits your life right now, and we change it the moment your life does. Wherever and however you need us, the relationship and the accountability stay exactly the same.

  • You want face-to-face support in Houston
  • You prefer support in your own home
  • A busy schedule needs virtual flexibility
  • You need support during travel or transitions
  • You want help in the community, in real situations
  • Privacy and discretion are essential
  • You are outside Houston but want our team
  • You want to mix formats as needs change

However and wherever you need support, we make it work around your life.

Six Ways We Show Up

Ways we support you

In person icon

In-Person

Face-to-face recovery coaching across Houston and The Heights, in a private office or wherever feels comfortable to you. In-person sessions build the trust and steady accountability that are hard to replicate on a screen, and they anchor the daily routine early recovery depends on. Best when you want consistent, personal contact you can count on.

In-Home

Support that comes to you, inside the privacy of your own home. Working where recovery is actually lived lets us address the real triggers, routines, and relationships as they happen, instead of in the abstract. Discreet, calm, and completely confidential.

Sober Companion ›

Virtual icon

Virtual

Secure video and phone sessions that flex around a demanding schedule, travel, or distance. Virtual recovery coaching keeps the relationship and the accountability intact when life is in motion, so hard-won momentum never has to pause. Built for professionals and anyone balancing recovery with a full calendar.

Community icon

In the Community

Real-world support in the moments that test recovery most, from a first sober event to a tense family gathering. We stand beside you as it happens and help turn insight into practiced, lived skill. This is where lasting change is actually made.

Travel & Transitions

Companion support through the highest-risk windows, including travel, major events, and the fragile move home from treatment. A trusted person at your side during transitions protects the progress you have fought for, exactly when it is most vulnerable.

A Mix That Fits

Recovery is not static, and your support should not be either. Blend in-person, in-home, and virtual formats and move between them as your needs change, all with the same trusted team who already knows your story. One relationship, every setting.

Where Mentoring Fits

Non-clinical support that works with your care

Heights Mentoring is a private, non-clinical recovery support practice. We do not diagnose or provide therapy, psychiatry, or medical care. When those are the right next step, we coordinate with licensed providers and our sister clinical practice, Heights Behavioral Health, so nothing falls through the cracks.

Questions

Where we work: questions, answered

We are based in Houston Heights at 1009 Yale Street and work across the greater Houston area, including River Oaks, Memorial, West University, Montrose, The Woodlands, Katy, Sugar Land and Bellaire. Because mentoring happens in your environment rather than ours, the practical limit is travel time rather than a service boundary on a map.

A mentor comes to you: the morning routine at your kitchen table, the drive to an appointment, the evening that historically goes wrong. In-home work is the most effective format for early recovery and for anyone whose environment is part of the problem, because you cannot coach someone out of a room you have never been in.

Yes. Virtual works well for professionals with unpredictable schedules, clients outside Houston, and anyone stepping down from more intensive support. It is the wrong tool during an acute crisis, when withdrawal is a medical possibility, or when the environment itself is the issue. Most durable arrangements mix formats rather than choosing one.

Yes, and many clients prefer it. Coffee shops, our Heights offices, a park, a gym, or on a walk. For clients who need discretion above everything, neutral ground and irregular timing are often part of the design. See executive and professional support.

Yes, for companion engagements. Discharge transport, business travel and family events out of state are all situations we staff. Travel and lodging are quoted separately and agreed in writing beforehand.

Usually within a day or two anywhere in greater Houston, and often same-day for a discharge or an urgent situation. Call (713) 337-5063 with your location and timeline and we will tell you honestly what is possible.

Yes. Our Houston Heights offices are used for consultations, family meetings and neutral-ground sessions. Most of the work still happens where you live, because that is where recovery is tested.
