Why Mentoring Works

Support that understands what is at stake

Executives and professionals face a specific version of this problem: the career is thriving while the drinking or the habit quietly grows, and every ordinary route to help feels like a risk to everything built so far. We designed this practice for exactly that bind: senior support, absolute discretion, and a plan that fits your actual life.

Absolute discretion

Private pay, unobtrusive support, and no insurance trail. Your recovery remains entirely your business, handled by a small senior team who protect confidences for a living.

Built around your calendar

Early mornings, late evenings, travel weeks. Support flexes to the realities of a demanding role instead of competing with it, so getting help never requires disappearing.

Peers in professionalism

Senior mentors who understand boardrooms, licensure stakes, and public profiles, working under licensed clinical leadership and to a standard your world would recognize.

Is This Familiar

When high-functioning stops meaning fine

  • The performance is intact but the drinking is quietly growing
  • You are the one everyone relies on, so no one asks how you are
  • Travel and client events keep normalizing the habit
  • You have cut back before and it has not held
  • A partner or board seat makes ordinary treatment feel impossible
  • You worry getting help would mean disappearing for a month
  • Privacy concerns have kept you from asking anyone
  • You want this handled before it ever becomes visible

For the highest-risk moments, immersive support changes outcomes. A sober companion is there so no one faces them alone.

DISCRETION IS THE STANDARD

Success built your life. It should not cost you your recovery.

High performers are often the last to get help, because the image holds long after the habit stops being a choice. Support built for your world changes that: private, flexible, and beside you in the rooms where your life actually happens, with no one the wiser.

How It Works

How support begins

01

A private conversation

Confidential and without pressure. We listen first and help you name what is really happening.

02

A support plan

Built around your patterns, your triggers, and the shape of your week.

03

Real-world support

Consistent presence between appointments and after treatment, where recovery is actually tested.

04

Coordinated care

We work alongside your clinical team when one exists, or help you build one through Heights Behavioral Health.

Do not face the hardest moments alone

A private, judgment-free conversation is the first step. We will help you find footing, whatever the last few months have looked like.

Where Mentoring Fits

Non-clinical support that works with your care

Heights Mentoring is a private, non-clinical recovery support practice. We do not diagnose or provide therapy, psychiatry, or medical care. When those are the right next step, we coordinate with licensed providers and our sister clinical practice, Heights Behavioral Health, so nothing falls through the cracks.

Questions

Executive and professional recovery questions, answered

No. Heights Mentoring is private-pay and non-clinical, so there is no insurance claim, no diagnosis code and no clinical record created by this service. That is a structural feature of how it is built rather than a promise we are asking you to take on trust.

In most cases, yes. That is precisely why this model exists for professionals. Sessions are scheduled around your calendar, including early mornings, evenings and travel days, and much of the work can be virtual. If your situation genuinely requires a clinical level of care, we will tell you that rather than sell you a workaround.

Licensing boards for physicians, attorneys, pilots, nurses and financial professionals each have their own reporting rules, and we are not lawyers. What we can do is work discreetly, coordinate with the licensed clinicians and attorneys who do advise on that, and avoid creating records that were never necessary in the first place.

We travel. Companion support on business trips, conferences and family events out of state is a normal part of this service. Where travel is not warranted, virtual contact holds the structure between in-person sessions.

Only who you decide. Confidentiality terms, including what if anything reaches a spouse or a business partner, are agreed in writing before the engagement starts. Meetings can happen at neutral locations at irregular times where discretion is the priority.

Almost certainly not. The people who come to us early keep their careers, their marriages and their licences. The people who wait for something visible to go wrong usually spend far more, over far longer, to get less back.

Usually a heavier first six to eight weeks with in-person and virtual contact, stepping down as structure holds, and a planned handover rather than an open-ended arrangement. Everything is quoted in writing before it starts.
